Covington House Fire Under Investigation; Arson Hotline Activated

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a residential structure fire in Covington is currently under investigation.
“On Saturday, March 29th, investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s office responded to the scene of a residential fire on Lee St in Covington,” said Commissioner King. “Upon extinguishment, investigators observed heavy damage to the deck. No injuries or fatalities were reported. Anyone with information is advised to call the 24/7 Georgia Arson Control Hotline at 1-800-282-5804.”
Commissioner King also stated that a reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for arson. Tipsters can remain anonymous when calling the hotline.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is working in conjunction with the Covington Fire Department and the City of Covington Police Department on this ongoing investigation.
