Newton County Sheriff’s Office Delivers Holiday Relief to Families Affected by Hurricane Helene

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO), led by Sheriff Ezell Brown, successfully completed a community outreach initiative providing aid to four families in Clyde, NC, impacted by Hurricane Helene. The initiative, supported by NCSO employees and local businesses, ensured these families received essential items and holiday cheer during the season.

The NCSO collected non-perishable canned food, hot hands, socks, hats, blankets, gift cards, and personal hygiene products for the families. Additionally, four children were adopted, receiving toys, clothes, coats, and candy to fulfill their Christmas wishes.

The donations were transported to New Covenant Church in Clyde, NC, by NCSO Captain Marty Roberts and Deputy Sharron Stewart, who coordinated the distribution to the families.

Sheriff Brown expressed gratitude for the community’s involvement, stating, “It is heartwarming to witness the selflessness of our community coming together to help those who have been through so much. We are grateful to everyone who contributed and made this initiative a success.”

A special thank you was extended to NCSO employees, as well as Walmart stores in Covington and Madison, GA, for their generous support in making the outreach possible.
