Three Arrested in Covington During Sex Trafficking Investigation
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced the arrests of three people in Covington during an investigation connected to a sex trafficking case out of Virginia.
Authorities said 35-year-old Jonathan Daniels of Lithonia was charged with sex trafficking with intent to receive money, possession of MDMA, possession of methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II oxycodone, and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
Investigators also arrested 31-year-old Trenica Jena Ford of Decatur and 32-year-old Kesonia Alenthia Nembhard of Loganville. Both were charged with possession of MDMA, possession of methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II oxycodone, and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
According to the GBI, the investigation began after the Henrico County Police Division requested assistance from the GBI Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit on May 4 to locate Daniels, who was wanted in Virginia on a sex trafficking charge.
With assistance from the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, agents located and arrested Daniels in Covington.
Investigators also discovered Daniels had active warrants in Fulton County for failure to appear related to a weapon possession case, as well as felony retail theft warrants from Wisconsin.
Daniels, Ford, and Nembhard were all booked into the Newton County Jail.
