Elderly Man Arrested for Sexual Relationship with Teen; Mother Charged with Pimping

On January 12, 2025, officers responded to the 1500 block of E. Broad Ave in reference to a sexual assault. Upon arrival, 67-year-old Cleo Spence stated he wanted Kimberly Murray and her children to leave his residence, they were staying at his residence due to their state of impoverishment. Murray informed officers that she found messages in her 17-year-old daughter’s phone that suggested Spence sexually assaulted her.

After investigators spoke with the 17-year-old, it was confirmed that Spence had met her back in August, and he was paying her to be sexual with her.

Investigators were able to determine that the 17-year-old’s mother, Kimberly Murray, had been instructing her to be sexual with Spence for money.

Cleo Spence was charged with Prostitution, Grooming, Aggravated Sodomy, Solicitation of Sodomy, Sexual Battery, and Human Trafficking. Kimberly Murray was charged with Pimping and Human Trafficking. They are currently in the Dougherty County Jail.
