Savannah Police Arrest Two, Seize Guns and Drugs in Kayton Homes Patrol

Gary Washington, 23, and Kadeem Grant, 29, were arrested by the Savannah Police Department’s Violent Crimes Task Force during a patrol of the Kayton Homes area.
On April 26th, at approximately 12:00 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. Upon approaching, they detected the smell of marijuana, leading to a search of the vehicle. The search yielded four firearms, over 500 rounds of ammunition, drugs, and distribution paraphernalia.
Washington was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and a vehicle window tint violation. Grant was charged with possession of marijuana under one ounce and possession of open alcohol in a motor vehicle.
