Two Arrested in Connection With March Shooting in Downtown Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah police have arrested two suspects in connection with a March shooting in downtown Savannah that left one man wounded and damaged several buildings and a vehicle.

According to the Savannah Police Department, 28-year-old Jamario Clark was served with arrest warrants at the Chatham County Detention Center on July 20. Three days later, on July 23, members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Crimes Task Force, the Savannah Police Department K-9 Unit and the department’s Special Investigations Unit arrested 23-year-old Taniji Hall during a felony traffic stop.

The investigation stems from a shooting that occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on March 6 in the 100 block of Congress Street.

Officers initially responded to the area after receiving reports of a fight in progress. As officers approached the scene, they heard multiple gunshots and discovered ballistic damage to several buildings and an unoccupied vehicle.

A short time later, an adult male arrived at Memorial Health University Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his arm.

Clark has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Hall has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and reckless conduct.
