Savannah Police Arrest Suspect Nearly Four Years After 2022 Fatal Shooting

SAVANNAH, Ga. A Savannah man has been arrested in connection with a 2022 homicide after investigators spent more than three years developing the case, according to the Savannah Police Department.

Julian Bryant, 42, was taken into custody on July 17 and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in the death of 40-year-old Marvin Sintell Swan.

The investigation began on Dec. 11, 2022, when officers responded at approximately 10:30 p.m. to the first block of Gateway Boulevard West after receiving a report of a disorderly person.

When officers arrived, they found Swan suffering from gunshot wounds. He died from his injuries.

Detectives continued investigating the case and ultimately identified Bryant as the suspect.

Members of the Savannah Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit and Community Response Team arrested Bryant on July 17. He was transported to the Chatham County Detention Center.

“I am proud of our investigators, whose years-long dedication and tenacity serve as a reminder of our commitment to justice, and to the relentless pursuit of truth,” Savannah Police Chief Lenny B. Gunther said in a statement.
