Teen Killed, Another Wounded in Savannah-Area Shooting, Investigation Underway
SAVANNAH, Ga. An 18-year-old man was killed and a 17-year-old was wounded in a shooting Saturday night in Chatham County, authorities said.
According to the Chatham County Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 9 p.m. on July 18 to the 100 block of Bradford Court near the Moon River District after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police said the 18-year-old later died from his injuries. His identity has not yet been released.
The 17-year-old victim’s condition has not been disclosed.
Detectives with the Chatham County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit responded to the scene shortly after patrol officers and assumed the investigation.
Authorities said the investigation remains active and ongoing, and no information about potential suspects has been released.
