Richmond County Deputies Arrest 19-Year-Old in Fatal Shooting Investigation
RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. – A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder following the discovery of a man’s body along a roadway Saturday morning, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded at approximately 6:54 a.m. on Aug. 8 to the area of Boy Scout Road and Rae’s Creek after receiving a report of a suspicious situation.
When deputies arrived, they found Tyrone Bradley Whittaker, 44, deceased on the side of the roadway.
Suspect Arrested Hours Later
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division launched an investigation into Whittaker’s death.
Shortly after 2 p.m., investigators, assisted by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, arrested Demarion Drinks, 19, at his residence without incident.
Drinks has been charged with:
- Murder
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
He was taken into custody and booked into the Richmond County Jail.
