Autopsy Reveals Macon Woman’s Death Caused by Vehicle Impact, Not Stabbing; Public’s Help Needed

On Sunday, January 19, 2025, Bibb County deputies were dispatched to the 4900 block of Bloomfield Road in Macon at approximately 10:40 a.m. following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies located 43-year-old Priscilla Watson, who was unresponsive and appeared to have sustained a stab wound. Watson was pronounced dead at the scene, and an autopsy was ordered to determine the official cause of death.

On January 27, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) of the autopsy findings. Contrary to initial assessments, the autopsy revealed that Watson’s fatal injury was not a stab wound but an impact wound consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

It was further reported that some type of event took place in the area on the evening of Saturday, January 18, 2025, prior to Watson’s death. Investigators are working to piece together the events leading up to the incident, including determining if Watson may have been involved in or near the event when she was struck.

Authorities are now seeking assistance from the public to gather more information about the circumstances surrounding Watson’s death.

The case has been reassigned to a fatality investigator who is working to establish whether the impact was accidental or intentional and to identify the vehicle involved.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to speak with a Fatality Investigator. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
