Bibb County Deputies Stop Stolen Vehicle After Pursuit
Last night, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division Property investigators attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle. However, the driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit. Units from the BCSO Traffic Division, SRT Unit, and K-9 Interdiction Unit joined the pursuit. They utilized channelization techniques to force the driver back onto the right side of the roadway.
The pursuit continued until officers executed a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle on Rocky Creek Road near Bloomfield Road. Following the successful maneuver, the driver was taken into custody. The individual now faces charges of Theft By Taking Motor Vehicle, Felony Fleeing/Eluding, Aggressive Driving, and Driving While License Suspended.
During the incident, a female passenger was detained but later released. However, additional charges may be pending as the investigation progresses.
