GBI Seeks Public’s Help Finding Sparta Man Missing Since July 27
SPARTA, Ga. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is asking for the public’s help locating a 55-year-old Hancock County man who disappeared after going to a residence in Sparta more than two weeks ago.
The GBI announced Wednesday, Aug. 12, that it is seeking information concerning the disappearance of George Wayne Pailloz Jr., 55, of Sparta.
According to investigators, Pailloz went to a home on Island Creek Church Road in Sparta on Monday, July 27, 2026.
He never returned and could not be located at the residence.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the GBI on July 29, two days after Pailloz was last known to have gone to the Island Creek Church Road property.
Authorities have not released additional information about why Pailloz went to the residence, who was at the home or the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
The GBI said the missing person investigation remains active and ongoing.
