Cold Case: Albany Police Seek Leads in 2019 Homicide of 24-year-old Man

The Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau is seeking public assistance in the investigation of the homicide of Jontavious Price. The incident took place at an apartment located in the 500 block of S Van Buren St on March 20, 2019.

Price, aged 24 at the time, was fatally shot in the chest during the incident. Another individual, 19-year-old Joseph Sapp Jr., sustained a gunshot wound to the foot. According to Albany Police, there were a total of five individuals present in the apartment when the shooting occurred. A witness reported hearing a struggle followed by multiple gunshots.

Authorities are urging anyone with information relevant to the case to come forward. Information that could assist in identifying suspects and leading to an arrest is particularly sought.
