Four Arrested on Murder Charges in Deadly Cordele Shooting
CORDELE, Ga. – Four people have been charged with felony murder in connection with a June shooting that left one man dead and another injured in Crisp County, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The GBI identified those arrested as 17-year-old Bianca Armani King-Knight of Crisp County, 19-year-old Trenton Donnell Lane of Wilcox County, 17-year-old Kaylee Posey of Crisp County and 19-year-old William Troy Posey of Crisp County.
Each is charged with one count of felony murder and three counts of aggravated assault.
The charges stem from a shooting on June 27 in the 1000 block of Dayton Road in Cordele.
According to the GBI, Cordele police officers responded at approximately 6:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found 20-year-old Correnthian Jeremiah Cooks of Crisp County and another man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital. Cooks later died from his injuries, while the second victim was treated and released.
Cooks’ body was taken to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The GBI said King-Knight, Lane, Kaylee Posey and William Troy Posey were arrested on June 29 and booked into the Crisp County Jail.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
