CORDELE, Ga. — A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred in Cordele last week, following a multi-agency investigation that ended with his capture in Pulaski County.

The Cordele Police Department announced the suspect was taken into custody without incident on the evening of June 24 near Pineview, Georgia.

The arrest stems from a shooting that occurred on June 20 in the 600 block of West 23rd Avenue in Cordele.

According to investigators, the suspect allegedly fired a gun at another individual while children and other innocent bystanders were nearby, placing numerous people at risk.

The suspect is charged with four counts of Aggravated Assault, two counts of First-Degree Cruelty to Children, Reckless Conduct, Discharge of a Firearm on the Property of Another, First-Degree Criminal Damage to Property, Criminal Trespass, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.

Police also credited members of the public for providing information that helped investigators locate the suspect.
