One Dead, One Injured in Cordele Shooting; Four People Detained
CORDELE, Ga. — One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting Saturday evening, prompting an ongoing investigation led by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
According to the Cordele Police Department, officers responded at approximately 6:44 p.m. on June 27 to the 1300 block of Drayton Road after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found two adult men suffering from gunshot wounds and immediately began providing emergency medical aid.
Both victims were transported by Crisp County EMS to Crisp Regional Hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, one of the victims died from his injuries.
The Cordele Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene alongside the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which has assumed the lead role in the investigation.
Authorities said four individuals have been detained in connection with the shooting.
The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
The investigation remains active, and officials have not released the identity of the deceased or additional details.
