Former Ivey Police Officer Arrested for Credit Card Fraud

IVEY, Ga. — A former police officer has been arrested following an investigation into the misuse of a city-issued credit card, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

24-year-old Christopher Denaris Brown of Macon, has been charged with financial transaction card fraud and violation of oath of office.

The investigation began after the Ivey Police Department requested GBI assistance regarding suspected misuse of a City of Ivey credit card.

Authorities said the investigation revealed Brown, who was hired in October 2025, used the city-issued card to purchase gasoline for his personal vehicle at various locations across Georgia.

Brown was taken into custody and booked into the Wilkinson County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit for prosecution.
