Armed Robbery at Albany Gas Station Leaves Owner Injured, Suspect Flees on Bicycle
ALBANY, Ga. – Albany Police are investigating an armed robbery that left a gas station owner injured late Sunday night and are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect.
According to the Albany Police Department (APD), the incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. on Dec. 28 at the One Leaf gas station located at 1628 Clark Ave. An unknown suspect entered the store and stole several alcoholic beverages while armed with a firearm.
Police said the store owner attempted to stop the suspect as he was leaving, leading to an altercation inside the business. During the struggle, the owner was struck in the head with an object, causing severe bleeding.
The suspect fled the scene on a bicycle before officers arrived. The victim was treated for his injuries, and the investigation remains ongoing.
