Gang Member Sentenced to 20 Years in Warner Robins for Shooting Neighbor Over Trash
Defendant: Airrick Middlebrooks

HOUSTON COUNTY, GA – Airrick Jamaal Middlebrooks, 30, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, with the first 12 years to be served behind bars, after pleading guilty to aggravated assault, possession of methamphetamine, and violating the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.

Middlebrooks admitted in court to shooting at a neighbor on August 7, 2024, during a dispute over trash. During the confrontation, he reportedly fired at the neighbor and then said, “That’s on GD,” a reference prosecutors say links him to the Gangster Disciples gang through social media evidence.

In addition to the shooting, Middlebrooks acknowledged involvement in a drug-selling operation out of his Warner Robins home. A 2022 search of the property uncovered methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, firearms, and multiple individuals, including Middlebrooks.

The coordinated effort by the Houston County Sheriff’s Office and Assistant District Attorneys Justin Duane, Mike Smith, and Lina Khan Leh was credited with holding Middlebrooks accountable and removing a confirmed gang member from the community. Authorities emphasized that the combination of firearms, narcotics, and gang involvement contributes to the most dangerous forms of violence, and said the conviction makes local streets safer.
