Cook County Sheriff’s Office Mourns Death of Corporal Howie Lorette

COOK COUNTY, GA — The Cook County Sheriff’s Office announced the passing of Corporal Howard “Howie” Lorette following a sudden illness at his home.
Corporal Lorette was a 15-year veteran of law enforcement, including eight years with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. He also served with the City of Sparks Police Department and the Valdosta Police Department.
During his tenure with the Sheriff’s Office, Lorette served as a patrol deputy, patrol supervisor, and School Resource Officer at Cook County High School.
Sheriff Doug Hanks and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office extended condolences to Lorette’s wife, children, family, and friends, and requested prayers for the Sheriff’s Office, the Cook County School System, and the community. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
