Albany Man Arrested After Shooting at Juvenile in McDonald’s Parking Lot

Thomas Threatts, 18, has been arrested after shooting at a 16-year-old juvenile in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant.

On March 24, 2025, Albany Police officers responded to a shooting incident at the McDonald’s located at 1632 E. Oglethorpe Blvd in Albany.

The 16-year-old victim reported that he had accidentally struck two vehicles in the drive-thru after hitting a curb. He then parked in a nearby lot and was approached by an unknown male, later identified as Threatts, who began firing shots at him. The victim fled the scene on foot.

A witness corroborated the victim’s account, stating that she saw Threatts running towards the juvenile and firing shots.

Threatts was detained at the scene, and a firearm was recovered in a nearby alley. He was transported to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) for questioning.

Following the interview, Threatts was charged with Aggravated Assault and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. He was then transported to the Dougherty County Jail.
