Third Suspect Arrested Nearly Six Months After Violent Bibb County Carjacking
MACON, Ga. — Nearly six months after a Macon man was beaten, robbed at gunpoint and left stranded during a violent carjacking, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators have arrested a third suspect believed to have orchestrated the crime.
On June 24, detectives arrested 41-year-old Deangelo Dwayne Davis, who investigators say is the man known to the victim only by the nickname “Dee Dee.” Davis was charged with Hijacking a Motor Vehicle in connection with the Jan. 11, 2026, carjacking.
The arrest marks the latest development in an investigation that began on the afternoon of Jan. 11, when deputies responded to the Fast Fuel Texaco at 3855 Broadway after a badly beaten man reported he had been carjacked.
The victim, Dustin Daniel, suffered significant facial injuries, including severe swelling and blood clotting around his right eye. EMS personnel treated him at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital.
According to investigators, Daniel had been staying at the Travelodge on Riverside Drive when Davis, whom he knew only as “Dee Dee,” approached him and asked for a ride as Daniel entered his red 2011 Honda CR-Z.
Daniel told deputies that once inside the vehicle, Davis pulled out a black handgun, pointed it at him, and ordered him to drive. After making a stop at another hotel, Davis directed Daniel toward the Peach Orchard Road area.
Daniel told investigators they arrived at a trailer where four or five additional people came outside and attacked him.
Among those involved, investigators said, was Alicia Renee Youngblood of Jacksonville, Florida, who allegedly took Daniel’s car keys and repeatedly kicked him in the head during the assault.
Authorities said Joshua Dylan Amerson of Macon then got behind the wheel of the Honda CR-Z while Youngblood entered the passenger seat, and the pair fled in the stolen vehicle, leaving Daniel behind with serious injuries.
Using Flock license plate reader technology, deputies tracked the stolen Honda as it traveled through Bibb County.
While Daniel was still receiving medical treatment, deputies learned the vehicle had returned to the Broadway and Mead Road area. Sgt. T. Jones located the Honda and initiated a pursuit.
The chase ended after the stolen vehicle crashed near Houston Avenue and Broadway.
Amerson fled on foot but was captured after a brief pursuit. Youngblood escaped from the crash scene on foot and was identified later during the investigation.
Amerson was arrested on Jan. 11 and charged with Aggravated Assault, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, and Theft by Taking – Motor Vehicle.
Youngblood was later charged with Aggravated Assault, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, and Theft by Taking – Motor Vehicle.
Investigators continued working the case for months to determine the true identity of the armed suspect known only as “Dee Dee.” Through additional investigative efforts, detectives identified him as Deangelo Dwayne Davis.
Davis was arrested on June 24 and charged with Hijacking a Motor Vehicle.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has not indicated whether additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
