New Bibb County Jail Administrator Announced by Sheriff
MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has announced the appointment of Samuel Jines as its new Jail Administrator.
In the executive-level role, Jines will oversee nearly 100 full-time sworn deputies, along with administrative staff, supervisors, and jail vendors within the county’s corrections division.
Jines brings more than a decade of experience in the corrections field. He most recently served with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office in Nashville, Tennessee, where he managed daily operations of a 1,000-bed maximum security facility.
His background includes supervision of restrictive housing, medical units, and booking operations, as well as experience managing facilities housing both male and female inmates, including pre-trial and post-trial populations.
Jines holds a bachelor’s degree in leadership science with a minor in pre-law and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the same field. He is also one of only five Certified Jail Managers in Georgia through the American Jail Association and serves on national committees focused on jail guidelines and standards.
In addition, Jines is a published author on correctional leadership, with work featured in industry publications, and has served as a guest speaker at professional conferences.
In his new role, Jines said he plans to focus on building trust among staff, inmates, and the public, while improving operations and expanding programs aimed at preparing inmates for life after incarceration.
“I am proud to welcome Colonel Jines to our staff,” Sheriff David Davis said. “His knowledge, experience, and innovative spirit are unparalleled. I am confident he will strive to lead the corrections division into a better future.”
