Jake Sweatt

TROUP COUNTY, GA — A 45-year-old Hogansville man is in custody following a specialized investigation into the sexual assault of two minors. Jake Sweatt was arrested on Friday, April 10, 2026, and faces two counts of Rape stemming from incidents that occurred several years apart.

The case was led by the Troup County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, which initially focused on a reported assault of a 10-year-old female that took place years ago.

Secondary Victim Comes Forward

As investigators delved into the details of the initial report, a second victim came forward with additional allegations against Sweatt. Authorities confirmed that both victims were under the age of 16 at the time the crimes were committed.

The successful identification of a second victim allowed the Sheriff’s Office to secure multiple warrants, leading to Sweatt’s apprehension without incident.
