GWYNNETT COUNTY, GA – A routine commute on Interstate 85 South turned violent on November 13, 2025, when a road rage incident escalated to a stabbing. Officers were dispatched to a “person stabbed” call and found Peter Chai with a knife wound to his chest.

According to Chai, the altercation began when he became involved in a traffic dispute with a white van. During the confrontation, the driver of the van, later identified as Yoandry Rincon, approached Chai’s vehicle and pulled out a knife, stabbing him in the chest.

Chai managed to defend himself by retrieving a bat from inside his vehicle, prompting Rincon to retreat back to his van. Chai was transported to a local hospital, treated for his injuries, and has since been released.

Rincon was later located and interviewed by Gwinnett County Police detectives. He was charged with Aggravated Assault and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail. Authorities confirmed that Chai and Rincon did not know each other prior to the incident.
