Woman Arrested After Attempting to Take Toddler From Mother in Macon

MACON, Ga. — A woman was arrested after allegedly attempting to forcibly take a 3-year-old child from his mother at a Macon apartment complex, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred at a complex off Mumford Road, where Sgt. George Witherspoon with the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded and took the suspect into custody.

According to a report, the woman had no known relationship to the child or the child’s mother. Authorities said she attempted to take the toddler and became involved in a physical struggle with the mother.

Deputies intervened and arrested the suspect at the scene. She was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center.
