Driver Arrested After Speeding Stop in Peachtree Corners, Faces Drug and Obstruction Charges

PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. — A driver was arrested following a traffic stop that led to multiple charges, including drug possession and obstruction, according to police.

An officer observed a camo-wrapped Tesla Cybertruck speeding on April 12, 2026, near Holcomb Bridge Road and Peachtree Corners Circle. Police said the officer accelerated to approximately 80 mph to catch up to the vehicle, which was still traveling around 60 mph in a 45 mph zone and drifting between lanes without signaling.

The driver, identified as King Harris, told the officer he did not realize how fast he was going and said he was on his way to pick up food.

During the stop, officers observed a handgun in plain view on the dashboard. Due to the firearm being within reach, Harris was asked to exit the vehicle, but he refused multiple times.

Authorities said Harris was then advised he was under arrest for obstruction. He later complied after speaking with his attorney and was taken into custody without further incident.

While being processed at the jail, officers discovered a pill identified as oxycodone, a Schedule II controlled substance, on Harris’ person, resulting in additional charges.

Harris has been charged with obstruction, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, speeding, and a seatbelt violation.

The investigation remains ongoing.
