Severely Burned Body Discovered in Wooded Area, Albany Police Investigating

ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Police Department (APD) is currently investigating the death of an unidentified individual whose severely burned body was discovered in a wooded area today, in the 2800 block of Rosebrier Avenue.

APD officers responded to a call regarding a possible body location at approximately 7:00 A.M. Upon arrival, investigators found the remains. Due to the extent of the burns, identifying features are limited at this time.

The Criminal Investigations Bureau is actively working with the Dougherty County Coroner’s Office and the Albany Fire Department to determine the individual’s identity and the exact circumstances surrounding their death.
