Albany Police Searching for Armed and Dangerous Man Wanted for Questioning in Shooting

The Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau is asking for the public’s help in locating 21-year-old Jim Stacey Lawrence Jr., who is wanted for questioning in connection to an aggravated assault involving a firearm.
On April 29, 2025, officers responded to the 2300 block of Ashford Drive following reports of a shooting. The victim, 26-year-old Tyrekus Davis, was shot by his cousin, Jim Lawrence Jr., during a dispute while both were working construction at the location for the property owner. Davis was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Lawrence fled the scene in a maroon Ford Edge bearing Georgia tag XRF415. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Lawrence’s last known address is in the 100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Baconton, Georgia. He is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 198 pounds.
