Woodstock Police Assist in Locating Missing and Endangered Children in Douglasville

The Woodstock Police Department worked collaboratively with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to assist in locating two children believed to be residing in Douglasville, Georgia.

After a Cherokee County Superior Court order was issued on April 11, 2025, regarding the children, the Woodstock Police Department promptly entered them into the national missing and endangered persons database. Officers also notified all relevant agencies and initiated necessary protocols.

The children were last seen in Douglasville and believed to be with their mother and grandparents. Following the mother’s alleged failure to comply with the court order, a warrant for Haley Nelson was issued on April 17, 2025, for interstate interference with child custody.

On April 23, 2025, the Oregon State Police located the mother and children and notified the Woodstock Police Department due to the outstanding warrant.

“The safety and well-being of the children were our top priorities throughout this investigation,” stated Chief Robert L. Jones. “Our department remains committed to supporting law enforcement partners and utilizing every available resource to bring these situations to a safe and swift resolution.”

The Woodstock Police Department extended its appreciation to law enforcement agencies in Arizona, Georgia, Oregon, and Texas, as well as all other partner agencies who provided assistance in this investigation.
