Bibb County Fire Truck Involved in Crash with Semi Truck on I-475
On Thursday, April 24th, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division deputies responded to an accident on Interstate 475 south near Hartley Bridge Road involving a Macon-Bibb County fire truck and a semi-truck. According to Sgt. George Witherspoon, the semi-truck, which was hauling light materials, struck the fire truck while crews were attending to an earlier crash. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. The driver of the semi-truck was cited for violating Georgia’s Move Over Law. Authorities anticipated all lanes would reopen shortly after 8:00 p.m.
