Wanted Suspect Apprehended During Traffic Stop in Bibb County; Stolen Firearm and Checks Recovered

A wanted suspect was taken into custody during a traffic stop at the intersection of Mercer University Drive and Log Cabin Road by Bibb County Sheriff’s Office S.R.T. Unit Sgt. Travis Carlisle, Cpl. Kawon Pettigrew, and CID Investigator Adam Grant.
The suspect was wanted on multiple charges in Bibb County, including theft by receiving, theft by deception, receipt, possession, or transfer of a firearm by a convicted felon or felony first offender, entering an automobile or other motor vehicle with intent to commit theft or felony, and unauthorized use of a financial transaction card.
Authorities also discovered that the male suspect had outstanding warrants from Sandy Springs, Georgia, and Orange County, California.
Following the arrest, investigators executed a search at a residence, where they recovered a stolen handgun, stolen checks, and additional evidence related to the case.
The suspect was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office without incident. The investigation into this case remains ongoing.
