Albany Man Arrested After Firing at Suspects Who Shot at His Home

Albany Police officers responded to a shooting in the 700 block of S. Shadowlawn Dr around 11:30 P.M. on April 3, 2025.

Upon arrival, officers located 18-year-old Nicholas Nix running in the 800 block of W Gordon. Victims at the S. Shadowlawn Dr residence reported that suspects had shot at their house while Nix was inside. According to the victims, Nix then chased the suspects and fired at them in self-defense. Four other individuals were inside the home at the time of the initial shooting, but no injuries were reported. Officers recovered three firearms from Nix.

Nicholas Nix was arrested on an active simple battery warrant and taken to the Dougherty County Jail. Authorities stated that additional charges are pending in connection with the shooting incident.
