Man Killed in Albany Shooting; Suspect Arrested After Pursuit

On March 29, 2025, Albany Police officers responded to a shooting in the 500 block of Odom Ave, where they found a man lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 37-year-old Robert Spann, was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The suspect, 30-year-old Landon Carr, was arrested in the 300 block of S Jackson St after a brief pursuit with officers.
Investigators determined that the incident stemmed from a dispute over a mutual relationship with a woman. After shooting Spann, Carr reportedly chased the woman and rammed his vehicle into hers.
Carr has been charged with Murder, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Certain Crimes, Aggravated Assault-Firearm, Fleeing and Attempting to Elude, and Speeding. Additional charges are pending. He was booked into the Dougherty County Jail.
