Gwinnett Sheriff’s TRACE Unit Arrests Man on Child Exploitation Charges from Virginia

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Trafficking and Child Exploitation Unit (TRACE), in collaboration with the Hampton Virginia Police Department, has arrested Jaylin C. Chaney on multiple child exploitation charges.

On March 13, 2025, the TRACE Unit received intelligence from Hampton PD indicating that Chaney had enticed a minor into sending explicit materials.

The TRACE Unit located Chaney in Norcross, Georgia, and arrested him on warrants issued from Virginia.

Chaney faces the following charges in Virginia:

  • 16 counts of Possession of Child Pornography
  • 24 counts of Solicitation of Child Pornography
  • 24 counts of Use of a Computer to commit a sex offense with a minor

He is currently being held at the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office emphasized its commitment to protecting the community and apprehending those who exploit children. They also expressed gratitude for the collaboration with the Hampton Virginia Police Department. The investigation is ongoing.
