Man Arrested After Kicking in Door, Attacking Tenant and Child at Glynn County Motel

A man was arrested Friday morning, January 31, after allegedly breaking into a motel room and attacking its occupants with a knife.

Glynn County Police responded to the Economy Inn on New Jesup Highway in Brunswick after receiving reports of a violent altercation. According to investigators, 58-year-old Lovyce Mack of Glynn County knocked on a tenant’s door. When the male tenant refused to let him in, Mack kicked in the door, attempted to stab the man, and assaulted a six-year-old girl inside the room.

Officers arrived and apprehended Mack, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs. He faces multiple charges, including Aggravated Assault, First-Degree Cruelty to Children, Home Invasion, and Possession of a Firearm or Knife During the Commission of a Crime.
