Two Juveniles Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Chase Ends in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Glynn County

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. – Two juveniles were arrested Tuesday evening after a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle ended in a crash involving three uninvolved vehicles, according to the Glynn County Police Department.

At approximately 5:49 p.m. on July 14, a Glynn County police officer located a vehicle that had been reported stolen earlier in the day.

When the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver fled, leading officers on a pursuit through the Golden Isles Parkway area.

Police said the stolen vehicle reached high speeds and was driven recklessly before crashing into three other vehicles at the intersection of Golden Isles Parkway and Canal Road.

Following the collision, both occupants fled on foot but were quickly apprehended by responding officers.

Because the suspects are juveniles, their identities were not released.

The juvenile driver was charged with theft by receiving stolen property, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, hit and run, obstruction, failure to obey a traffic control device and driving without a valid license.

The juvenile passenger was charged with obstruction.

Both juveniles were transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation before being turned over to the juvenile justice system. The driver was later transported to a Regional Youth Detention Center.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the traffic crash.

Police said three uninvolved vehicles were struck during the collision. Authorities did not immediately release information regarding injuries.

The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be filed.
