Rossville Woman Convicted of Fentanyl Distribution, Sentenced to 30 Years
A Catoosa County woman was convicted of fentanyl distribution on January 15, 2025, following a jury trial in the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit.
Samantha Shea Leamon, of Rossville, was found guilty of Possession of Fentanyl with Intent to Distribute after officers discovered 3.642 grams of fentanyl powder in her residence during a probation check on April 11, 2024. Law enforcement officials from the Department of Community Supervision (DCS), Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) West Metro Drug Enforcement Office executed the search, locating the drugs along with Leamon’s state-issued ID in a bag inside her bathroom.
Following the two-day trial, Chief Judge Brian M. House sentenced Leamon to ten years in the Georgia Department of Corrections, followed by twenty years on probation.
The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Beth Evans, with investigative work led by Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office Detective Chris Lyons, GBI Special Agent Stephen Pendergrass, and DCS Officer Alex Barbee.
Leamon was already serving a probation sentence from a 2023 case for Possession of Clonazolam and had been ordered to complete her sentence in the Georgia Department of Corrections.
District Attorney Clayton M. Fuller emphasized the significance of the conviction, stating, “We have lost far too many lives to fentanyl. Let this conviction be a warning: if you intend to deal this deadly poison, we will find you, and we will bring you to justice.”
