Three Arrested in Atlanta After Fleeing Stolen Vehicle, Hiding in Dumpster

Three suspects were taken into custody after leading law enforcement on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle and attempting to hide in a dumpster on January 24, 2025.

At approximately 10:40 p.m., the Atlanta Police Department’s A.C.E. Unit was alerted to a stolen vehicle near Peachtree Street and Pine Street. Officers requested assistance from the Aviation Unit to track the vehicle’s movements. As A.C.E. officers attempted to maintain a visual, the suspects fled, prompting the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) to engage in pursuit.

GSP conducted a successful PIT maneuver, stopping the vehicle. Three suspects attempted to escape on foot. One remained in the vehicle and was immediately taken into custody. The other two fled but were located by the Phoenix Air Unit, which guided officers to a dumpster where they were hiding. Both were apprehended without further incident.

Officers recovered the stolen vehicle along with two firearms, a duty belt, and other miscellaneous items. The investigation remains ongoing.

The suspects were identified as:

  • Kobe Demarcus Johnson – Charged with Entering Auto, Theft by Taking, and Criminal Trespass.
  • Alonzo Longmire – Charged with Entering Auto, Theft by Taking, and Criminal Trespass.
  • Keonte Heard – Charged with Entering Auto and Criminal Trespass.
