Fatal Collision in Virginia Highland Area Claims Life of Motorized Scooter Operator
On Tuesday night, December 10, 2024, at approximately 11:54 p.m., Atlanta Police responded to a fatal collision at 952 N. Highland Ave, in the Virginia Highland area. Upon arrival, officers found both vehicles and their operators. The victim, an adult male operating a motorized scooter, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.
The driver of a Toyota Rav4 involved in the crash remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Preliminary findings suggest that the scooter operator was traveling south on N. Highland Ave when he lost control of the scooter, veering into incoming traffic before colliding head-on with the Rav4.
The Atlanta Police Department’s Accident Investigations Unit is actively investigating the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
