Newton County Man Arrested After Stabbing Uncle During Family Dispute
On Thursday, November 21, 2024, at approximately 6 p.m., Newton County deputies responded to a stabbing at a residence on Pickens Road in Covington.
The investigation revealed that 24-year-old Ethan Parks allegedly stabbed his uncle, 37-year-old Jason Durden, during an altercation. Durden was transported to a local hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
Parks was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault under the Family Violence Act (FVA). He is currently being held at the Newton County Detention Center.
The case remains under investigation.
