Youth Fatally Shot in Savannah Home Invasion

Savannah police detectives are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on May 18 in the 1100 block of West 49th Street, resulting in the death of a male juvenile.

Authorities responded to a report of an armed individual forcibly entering a residence around 7:35 p.m. Upon arrival, it was reported that the resident had confronted the intruder, leading to gunfire. Following a sweep of nearby residences, officers located the male juvenile who had sustained a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts by officers, the juvenile succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
