Fatal Single-Vehicle Fiery Crash Claims Life in Albany

In the early morning hours of May 9, 2024, Albany Police Officers were called to the 1300 block of Cromartie Beach Dr. in response to a single-vehicle accident. The incident occurred around 3:58 am and tragically resulted in a fatality.

According to reports, the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree, igniting into flames upon impact. The driver of the vehicle did not survive the crash and succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident is currently underway. Authorities are awaiting the identification of the deceased individual from the medical examiner’s office.
