Arrest Warrants Served in Connection to January 2023 Bibb County Murder Case

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have made progress in the case of the death of 47-year-old Ishmael Hassan Saleem. On March 14, 2024, arrest warrants were served for 37-year-old Shaun Mills and 40-year-old Terrell Ugean Mills in connection to the investigation.

Shaun Mills, currently in custody at the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office in Anniston, Alabama, since March 10, 2023, faces a warrant for murder. Terrell Ugean Mills is being held at the Jones County Sheriff’s Office (Georgia) since January 31, 2023 and also faces a murder warrant.

Both men were taken into custody by their respective agencies for their involvement in the January 19, 2023, murder of 52-year-old Pinal Kumar Patel on Thoroughbred Lane.

Both men have yet to be extradited to Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident involving Saleem occurred on January 19, 2023, when Bibb County Deputies responded to a person shot call on the 2300 block of Lincoln Street just before 2:00 a.m. Saleem, found unresponsive in a Saturn Aura with a gunshot wound to the chest, was pronounced deceased upon arrival at Atrium Health.
