85-Year-Old Piano Instructor Arrested on Child Molestation Charge in Dougherty County

ALBANY, Ga. — An 85-year-old private piano instructor has been arrested and charged with child molestation following a police investigation into allegations involving a 10-year-old student, authorities announced.

Dr. Harry Robert Martinez, 85, was taken into custody on Monday, August 24, 2026, after being interviewed by investigators with the Dougherty County Police Department. He was booked into the Dougherty County Jail on one count of child molestation.

Private Lessons and Abuse Investigation Martinez provides private piano instruction to students across the Albany-Dougherty County and Leesburg-Lee County areas, frequently teaching lessons directly in students’ homes.

The investigation was initiated after law enforcement received a report alleging inappropriate physical contact involving a 10-year-old male juvenile. Detectives conducted witness interviews and follow-up investigations leading to Martinez’s arrest. To protect the identity of the minor, further details regarding the victim will not be released. He was taken into custody at the 2100 block of Habersham Rd in Albany.
