Two Arrested After Marietta Parking Lot Shooting Leaves Two Injured
MARIETTA, Ga. — Two Marietta teenagers have been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured two people in a parking lot Wednesday night, according to the Marietta Police Department.
Police said officers were dispatched just after 9 p.m. on May 6, 2026, to a reported shooting in the parking lot of 875 Franklin Gateway.
When officers arrived, they found an empty vehicle and blood trails leading to two victims, according to investigators. Authorities said both victims suffered single gunshot wounds and were transported to a hospital, where they are recovering.
Based on information provided through 911 calls, officers immediately began searching for the suspect vehicle. Police said the vehicle was located a few blocks away and stopped while attempting to flee the area.
The driver, identified as 19-year-old Tamar Gremillion of Marietta, was detained and later charged in connection with the shooting.
Investigators said officers determined a second suspect was involved, although Gremillion was the only person inside the vehicle when it was stopped. The investigation later led authorities to 17-year-old Jaimere Mayfield of Marietta, who was taken into custody Friday evening.
Police said multiple firearms were recovered during the investigation.
According to authorities, both suspects were booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
Gremillion is charged under warrant 26-W-3913 with two counts of Armed Robbery Injury, two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Weapon, and Theft by Receiving a Stolen Firearm.
Mayfield is charged under warrant 26-W-3962 with two counts of Armed Robbery Injury and two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Weapon.
