Federal and Local Agencies Join Large-Scale Operation
Operation Snow Hill brought together investigators and specialized personnel from the Perry Police Department and several law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, Warner Robins Police Department, Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Peach County Sheriff’s Office and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
The U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force also participated.
Additional tactical support came from the Tri-County Special Response Team, consisting of deputies from the Crisp, Dooly and Turner county sheriff’s offices.
Houston County District Attorney Eric Edwards and his office worked closely with Perry police throughout the investigation.
According to the department, Edwards provided financial support for equipment that expanded the police department’s unmanned aircraft capabilities.
The equipment allowed investigators to maintain aerial operations during the lengthy investigation and played a role in Operation Snow Hill.
Perry Police Chief Warns More Arrests Are Coming
Perry Police Chief Alan Everidge said the investigation demonstrates the department’s determination to pursue drug trafficking organizations operating across jurisdictional boundaries.
“Drug trafficking organizations do not respect city limits, and neither will our investigations,” Everidge said. “If you are involved in distributing illegal drugs in Perry or the surrounding communities, understand that we will identify you, investigate your activities, and work with our law enforcement partners to bring the appropriate criminal charges.”
Everidge also credited investigators and participating agencies for their work during the three-month operation.
“Operation Snow Hill should send a clear message: We will not allow organized drug trafficking operations to operate unchecked in our communities,” he said.
Police said the investigation remains active as detectives review evidence recovered during the searches.
Additional arrests and criminal charges are expected as investigators move into the next phase of the operation.
Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to contact Detective Conner at 478-988-2800 or the Macon Regional Crimestoppers hotline at 1-877-68-CRIME.
