Albany Police Search for Suspect Linked to Deadly Shooting and Second Gunfire Incident
ALBANY, Ga. — Police are searching for a suspect believed to be connected to two separate shootings in Albany, including one that left a woman dead and four others injured, according to the Albany Police Department.
On Tuesday night, April 28th, Albany Police officers responded at around 10:43 p.m. to the 1000 block of South Cleveland Street, where they found five people suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim, identified as 31-year-old Kiambria Young, later died from her injuries. The four other victims were transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
During the ongoing investigation, authorities identified Braylen Robinson as a suspect in the shooting.
Police said Robinson is also wanted in connection with a second shooting that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, April 29th, in South Albany. In that incident, a male victim was shot while riding in a vehicle with a female driver and an infant. After the shooting, the driver attempted to take the victim to the hospital but was involved in a crash at Oakridge Drive and Madison Street. Both vehicles overturned, and all individuals involved were taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Investigators later located the vehicle Robinson was believed to be driving and confirmed his identity. When officers attempted to approach, Robinson reversed and accelerated toward officers, prompting a pursuit. The vehicle was later recovered, but Robinson remains at large.
Authorities are urging the public to call 911 immediately with any information on Robinson’s whereabouts. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
The investigation remains ongoing.
