Two Arrested After Second Burglary at Albany Convenience Store
DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. — Two people are in custody after investigators say they burglarized the same convenience store twice, including an early morning break-in where lottery tickets were stolen.
According to the Dougherty County Police Department, the Stop and Shop at 700 Cordele Road was first burglarized on February 1 and then again around 4:05 a.m. today.
During the most recent break-in, lottery tickets were taken from the store.
Investigators quickly developed leads and located two suspects attempting to cash in the stolen lottery tickets. Quenton Moore and Marshayni Lennear were taken into custody without incident.
Police say a third suspect has been identified and is expected to be arrested soon. Detectives are also reviewing evidence to determine whether the group may be connected to other recent crimes in the area.
Authorities credit the Flock Safety camera system and extensive surveillance efforts by the department’s Crime Suppression Team for helping solve the case.
“This is another example of how technology, combined with proactive police work, helps us quickly identify and apprehend individuals responsible for crimes in our community,” said Lieutenant J.C. Phillips of the Dougherty County Police Department.
The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be filed.
