Cordele Police Seize Stolen AR-15, Illegally Modified Glock, Drugs, and Cash

CORDELE, GA – Cordele Police officers recovered a stolen AR-15 style pistol, an illegally modified Glock handgun, drugs, and cash during a security check on Tuesday, July 15. The incident began around 10:30 p.m. when officers responded to a report of an individual seen carrying a rifle in the 600 block of West 23rd Avenue.

Upon arrival, the suspect had already hidden the weapon and left the scene. However, officers’ investigation led to the recovery of an AR-15 style pistol that had been reported stolen out of Birmingham, Alabama.

Further search uncovered a Glock handgun equipped with an illegal full-auto switch, a loaded Glock drum magazine, and a loaded 31-round extended Glock magazine. In addition, officers seized 21 individually sealed bags of suspected marijuana and $1,200 in U.S. currency. All items were taken as evidence.

The case remains under active investigation.
